In the second half the 19th century was discovered in Ustroń water source metallic and deposits of therapeutic mud what contributed to an interest in Ustroń as the health resort. Here rheumatoid diseases, pond-muscle complaints and illness of the respiratory system were being cured. In 1882 Ustroń was accepted to the circle of Austrian spas. From 1901 a Plant of Cowberry Baths became well-known, of which modern devices and the rich set of offered treatments became famous far after behind Ustroń. The essential development of Ustroń as towns uzdrowiskowo – holiday he brought the interwar period, then a rural electrification took place, a pool was built, tennis courts, couples and for pedestrians paths were tidied up. From the initiative of uses of the contemporary province of Katowice Gen. Jerzy Ziętek and Edward Gierek of years 60 – of the ones of the 20th century in the Jaszowiec Valley a holiday district came into existence, and in years 70 - of the ones on Zawodziu modern holiday-healing and sanatorium centres were raised about the characteristic shape of pyramids, an also Silesian Rheumatological Hospital, a Spa Sanatorium and a Natural medicine Plant were built.

 

 

 

Today Ustroń is a spa about the established renown. Here diseases of motor organs are being cured and rheumatic, of the cardiovascular system, illness of the respiratory tract and the peripheral nervous system, and he is only recently rehabilitating sick persons after the mammectomy and the laryngectomy as well as he/she is curing neuroses. Ustroń is only in Silesian Beskid with city about spa-holiday character. One's charm owes to the picturesque location in the valley of the River Vistula, at the foot of Czantorii, of Gronia Lipowski and Równicy covered with beautiful forests świerkowo – beech. He is a spa of the foothill type (340 – 450 n.p.m m) with the climate moderation – stimulative. Excellent location by an A road (Katowice – Ustroń), the about 15 km from the border crossing in Cieszyn, about 80 from the airport in Pyrzowicach constitutes the km for his availabilities and attraction.
